Study on the Presbyopia Addition and the Wear Tendency of Progressive Addition Lens

Abstract
|
|
|
This study focuses on the research in the presbyopia addition and the progressive addition lens prescription tendency. The subjects of 172(344 eyes) are the old residing in Jeonnam from May 2004 to March 2006, who has been prescribed to wear progressive addition lenses as one of the presbyopia prescriptions.
On the basis of both eyes, the average near-range glasses additions with age group are as follows : +1.171D in age group of 40~45, +1.697D in the age group of 46~50, +2.096D in the age group of 51~55, +2.750D in the age group of 55~60, +3.00D in the age group of 61~65, and +3.083D in the age group of 60~70.
The results of the analysis on the progressive addition lens dispensing and processing with users are as follows : 40.00% for the near-near range progressive addition lens in the age group of 40~45, 36.36% for the distance range progressive addition lens in the age group of 51~55, 61.54% for distance range progressive addition lens in the age group of 56~60, 88.89% for the distance range progressive addition lens in the age group of 61~65, and the distance range progressive addition lens only, in the age group of 66~70.
